The Role The General Manager is the operational heartbeat of Alive and Well Austin — responsible for leading daily operations, building exceptional teams, and creating a culture where guests experience transformation and team members thrive.This role demands both strategic leadership and hands-on execution. You'll oversee everything from staff development and guest experience to facility operations and financial performance—all while championing our mission and values in every decision.You're the right fit if you:Lead with empathy and authenticity, inspiring others through your actionsThrive in operational complexity and love optimizing systemsBuild high-performing teams through coaching, accountability, and clear communicationAre passionate about wellness and helping people live healthier lives What You'll Do Lead Culture & People • Champion our core values through every interaction, creating an inspiring and aligned work environmentBuild and develop a high-performing team culture with clear expectations and open communicationProvide leadership to department heads (hospitality, nursing, therapy, housekeeping) and the Assistant ManagerRecruit, hire, and onboard team members who align with our missionConduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development Deliver Exceptional Guest Experiences • Ensure every guest receives a personalized, seamless, and elevated experience from arrival to departurePersonally address high-level guest feedback and concerns with professionalism and careOptimize service flow, staffing, and space utilization to create an effortless guest journeyContinuously refine processes that enhance service quality and operational efficiency Manage Daily Operations • Oversee all operational aspects: scheduling, staffing, supplies, vendor relationships, and maintenanceEnsure facility readiness through cleanliness, safety protocols, and regulatory complianceManage payroll coordination, timesheets, and HR processes in collaboration with ownershipMaintain financial accuracy by auditing charges, monitoring budgets, and identifying cost-saving opportunities Drive Strategic Growth • Partner with ownership and marketing teams to execute campaigns, promotions, and growth initiativesProvide regular reporting on business performance, team health, and operational insightsSupport off-site programs (e.g., corporate wellness partnerships) to ensure brand consistencyIdentify opportunities to expand service offerings and deepen guest engagementCross collaboration with Clinic and Retail departmentsWhat You Bring Required Experience & Skills Leadership Experience: 5+ years in a leadership role within wellness, hospitality, healthcare, or service-driven businessPeople Leadership: Proven ability to build, develop, and inspire diverse teams with clarity and compassionOperational Excellence: Strong understanding of scheduling systems, facilities management, P&L oversight, and cost controlsStrategic Mindset: Ability to balance day-to-day execution with long-term planning and visionTechnology Proficiency: Experience with MindBody, Deputy, G-Suite, or similar operational platformsCommunication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to navigate difficult conversations Preferred Qualifications • Experience in integrative wellness, functional medicine, or spa/hospitality environmentsBackground in managing multi-location or growing businessesFamiliarity with health compliance, licensing, and regulatory requirementsPersonal passion for health optimization and wellness Physical Requirements • Ability to work on-site full-time at our Austin locationOccasional lifting up to 40 lbs for facility setup and supportAbility to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility during shifts Why Join Alive and Well This isn't just a job—it's an opportunity to lead with purpose and make a tangible impact on people's lives.
