Our team is committed to fostering a diverse, supportive, and inclusive workplace, where every employee can thrive and grow.Position SummaryVisitor Experience Attendants are fundamental to Storm King's daily operations and are involved in every element of the visitor experience. They are critical to the smooth operation of the site and assist visitors with wayfinding, provide information on Storm King's featured exhibitions and collections, enforce rules, ensure the safety of visitors, staff, sculpture, and site, and programs and events.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Engaging with visitors to provide an experience that aligns with Storm King's mission and values.Engaging visitors, answer questions, assist with wayfinding, and foster a positive environmentMonitoring areas of the site primarily by foot and enforce site rulesProtecting Storm King's property and visitorsResponding proactively to safety issuesAttending mandatory training sessions throughout the season to learn about Storm King's featured exhibitions, safety awareness, policy and procedures, and general information.Maintaining a clean and safe environment including supporting housekeeping by moving or picking up trash as needed, completing, and filing Incident reports.Performing sculpture inspections and reporting damage.Cash handling and operating Point of Sale locations as appropriate.Event and Program Support Set up and breakdownMaintaining barriersAssisting with the movement of guestsAssisting with general access needsTram Driver/Operator Safely operate both Ford and Diesel TramsMaintenance of vehicle including fueling and cleaningProvide safe transport around the Art CenterOperate audio players for the tram Loop and Tram TourPoint of Sales / Ticket Processing Operate point of sales (Altru)Sell, upgrade, and promote memberships.Cash Handling Assist visitors with all ticketing needs.Sell small toiletries and products to visitors.Bike Rental Operations Assist visitors and members with bike rentals including properly fitting visitors with rental equipment.Collect, file, and maintain Bike waivers.Conduct daily bike inspections.Operate point of sales (Altru)Maintenance of the fleet including cleaning, basic maintenance, and damage reportingSkills and QualificationsValid Class D driver's license with a clean record, without driving restrictionsMust be 18 years of ageExpected to be reliable, punctual, and flexibleStrong interpersonal and customer service skillsProficiency working well both individually and as part of a teamComfortable interacting with the public including groups of all ages, families, senior staff, Trustees, and artistsPoint of sales experience preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferredWorking EnvironmentAbility to maneuver outdoors, in all weather conditions, on 500 acres of hills, grass, and gravel pathwaysAbility to stand or walk for long periods of timeOccasional lifting, stooping, or bendingAbility to vocalize in a two-way radioAbility to lift/move up to 30 lbs. individually and 50 lbs. with assistanceAbility to operate a Point-of-Sale System (cash register)This role is represented by the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) Local 1000, AFSCME, AFL-CIO and is governed by a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between Storm King and CSEA Local 720 (Unit VS)Hours/SchedulesThis position is seasonal, non-exempt. Both part-time and full-time schedules may be available. Staff must be able to work at least three (3) consistent days per week.
