Welder
Position: Layout/Welder
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Use best practices for performing work in a safe manner, including compliance with all company PPE requirements
· Move material safely while operating an overhead crane
· Prepare and set up weld machines at the start of and during the work shift
· Repair and correction of any welding discontinuities identified by quality control
· Communicate supplies/consumables needs to the area team lead
· Adherence to Indiana Steel safety requirements
· Maintain an organized and clean work area
· Perform the required proper maintenance and upkeep of equipment the work area
· Work in an efficient and productive manner
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Three to five years’ experience preferred
· Excellent attendance is MANDATORY, be at the workstation on time and ready to begin work at the start of the shift
· Reliable transportation is a MUST
· Work schedule is 9-10 hours per day Monday-Friday, and Saturdays when scheduled (6 hours), will be standing the entire shift
· Be Coachable, accept guidance and direction
· Be Flexible, willing to perform tasks requested by the area team lead (including tasks outside of the primary job description
· Familiarity with welding equipment
· Possess a general knowledge of the fundamentals of welding
· Qualify and be proficient in the performance of the company Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS’)
· Demonstrate the ability to change the settings on the welding machine to comply with ranges required on the company WPS’
· Understand and weld within the limits and tolerances of AWS D1.1 Code
· Ability to prepare and weld multiple joints to AWS Standards
· Expertise in reading and comprehension of blueprints
· Have knowledge and a clear understanding of weld symbols
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 49.0 per week
