Assistant Director Of Technical ServicesWe are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Technical Services to help lead laboratory, component, and distribution operations in a regulated blood center environment. This role supports the Technical Services Director and helps ensure compliance with FDA, AABB, and state regulations while maintaining safe blood products for patients and manufacturing.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport daily oversight of laboratory, component, and distribution operationsServe in place of the Technical Services Director when neededPerform batch release functions for donor units prior to labelingSupervise staff scheduling and ensure adequate coverage across shiftsOversee quality control, proficiency testing, validations, and occurrence trackingSupport staff training, competency assessments, and performance oversightAssist with supply inventory, billing records, equipment, and departmental budget managementPromote strong teamwork and positive customer and employee relationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science ORAssociate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program with additional Medical Technologist certification OREquivalent experience with Medical Technologist certificationPreferred Experience5+ years of Medical Technologist experienceBackground in chemistry, hematology, blood banking, and microbiology preferred13 years of supervisory experience in a blood center or diagnostic laboratorySkills & KnowledgeStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsExcellent attention to detailAbility to troubleshoot technical and employee issues in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of regulatory compliance for blood donor centersAbility to train, evaluate, and support staff developmentCertificationMedical Technologist certification through ASCP or equivalent preferredPhysical & Work EnvironmentAbility to stand for extended periods and perform moderate physical activityMay lift, push, or pull equipment and materials up to 60 poundsWork is performed in a donor center laboratory environment with exposure to biological and chemical hazardsDISCLAIMER:This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
