The NPD Practitioner participates in setting objectives for assigned programs in alignment with organizational strategic plan and identified program opportunities. This includes participation in developing short- and long-term education strategies in collaboration with Center for Professional Practice of Nursing (CPPN) leadership and senior management, including identifying training needs, competency requirements, and initiatives to improve the delivery of service. The NPD Practitioner manages the assigned educational programs including maintenance of accreditation and acting as liaison between accrediting agency and CPPN leadership. The NPD Practitioner provides leadership in assigned programs through identification of specific learning outcomes, leading innovative educational design, identifying and leading adjunct faculty as appropriate for the educational program, and providing oversight and guidance to administrative staff to ensure record keeping meets needs of all stakeholders, including accrediting bodies as applicable. The NPD Practitioner monitors and ensures compliance with regulations for assigned programs, including adherence to policy, training and leadership of adjunct faculty, policy development, and maintenance of records. The NPD Practitioner assumes fiscal responsibility through active participation in the preparation of budgets for assigned programs/courses, identification of needed resources, including both physical resources, equipment, space, and technology and personnel resources, including need for faculty and technical support.Apply By Date: April 15th, 2026 at 11:59 PM PTMinimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
Registered Nurse in the State of California
American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR
Master's degree in nursing or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Previous experience teaching in a Healthcare environment
Recent clinical nursing experience
Progressive leadership experience
Progressive experience in professional staff development in Acute care setting
Demonstrated experience in nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements
Demonstrated knowledge of nursing practice standards and relevant regulatory requirements
Ability to plan and implement adult learning activities using a variety of modalities
Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
Demonstrated leadership ability to collaborate effectively with staff at all levels
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to quickly identify problems and implement effective solutions
Demonstrated strong skills in project management
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills to implement education programs
Demonstrated proficiency in educational technology use
Ability to adapt to change in a positive, professional and productive manner
Knowledge of legal implications in clinical practice and professional development
Knowledge of performance improvement and evidence-based practice
Knowledge of and ability to plan, implement, and evaluate the educational process, including adult theories of education in clinical, lecture, and technology assisted forumsPreferred Qualifications
Nursing Professional Development Certification
Master's degree in Nursing Education or related field
Knowledge of accreditation standards for primary programs, including BRN, ANCC, AHA, PTAPKey Responsibilities
