Junior Kitchen Manager / Head CookMexican Casual Restaurant — The Woodlands, Texas We are seeking an experienced Junior Kitchen Manager / Head Cook to lead back-of-house operations at our Mexican casual restaurant in The Woodlands. This is a full-time, salaried position with a growing multi-concept hospitality group based in the greater Houston area. Position SummaryThe Junior Kitchen Manager / Head Cook is responsible for the daily execution of kitchen operations, including line performance, prep production, ordering and receiving, inventory control, staff scheduling, and adherence to all food safety and sanitation standards. The position reports to the General Manager and works closely with ownership on cost control, menu execution, and team development. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise the back-of-house team during all dayparts, ensuring consistent execution of recipes and presentation standards Manage food cost through accurate ordering, receiving, inventory counts, waste tracking, and portion control Maintain compliance with Montgomery County Health Department regulations and internal food safety standards Develop and maintain BOH schedules in line with forecasted sales and labor budgets Train, coach, and evaluate kitchen staff; identify and develop internal talent Partner with the General Manager on weekly P&L review and corrective action where needed Uphold cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance throughout the kitchen Required QualificationsMinimum three (3) years of professional kitchen experience , including at least one year in a lead, sous, or kitchen management capacity Demonstrated working knowledge of Mexican cuisine and its core techniques Proficiency in food cost management, inventory procedures, and BOH scheduling ServSafe Manager certification, or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire (employer-sponsored) Strong written and verbal communication skills Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experience Performance-based bonus tied to defined kitchen KPIs Employer-paid ServSafe certification and ongoing professional development Shift meals provided Career DevelopmentThis position is structured as a development role within our organization.
