Residential Manager
Department: Residential Services Location: Queens, NY Report To: Director of Residential Services FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Shift: Varies based on location Summary: Coordinate all operations and activities of the Residence, including staff supervision, acting as agency/community liaison, directing resident training, programming, and providing family support. Detail of Duties and Responsibilities: Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team in the process of planning and implementing individuals' Individualized Services Plan/Individual Habilitation Plan Act as liaison, advocate and coordinator for individual involvement in support groups, self- advocacy, vocational programming, transportation services, integrated community activities, recreation and learning independent living skills Foster open and supportive communication with individuals, families, Day Programs Clinical Services and other community organizations and agencies Oversee all individual medical, medication and health issues Provide and ensure communication of medical and health issues to staff, agency nurses, families, etc. using appropriate logs when necessary Implement and follow-up on all support service recommendations Implement behavior development programs and documentation Provide counseling and crisis intervention to individuals in need of such assistance and guidance Ensures proper documentation of Habilitation Plan activities Monitor staff performance management, including evaluations and developmental plans, disciplinary actions, etc., for all program staff as scheduled Arrange and schedule needed training for all program staff Supervise staff training and development through teaching, acting as a role model and guiding staff on how to appropriately work with and interact with individuals, other staff, families and guardians Present and implement all agency policies and procedures Participate in the interviewing and hiring of new staff Inform supervisor as needed about pertinent issues Coordinate staff and weekly schedules Work a rotational schedule; respond while on-call to program needs, including covering open shifts Assist in the implementation of fire drills, safety checklists, disaster drills, and other safety procedures and policies Operate agency vehicle or personal vehicle in accordance with established policies and procedures Ensure compliance of the OPWDD DQI standards Ensure review/completion/submission of all billing records Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in human services related field preferred Minimum 3 years of experience in human services with demonstrated ability of leadership Prior supervisory experience is desired Other Skills and Qualifications: Valid NYS driver’s license required
