In this role, you’ll be responsible for sourcing and purchasing the materials and components that keep our production lines running. That means balancing cost, quality, and timing, while building strong supplier relationships and staying ahead of potential risks.You’ll work closely with planning, engineering, and production teams to understand demand, respond to changes, and make sure the right parts are in the right place at the right time.Essential Job DutiesPlan and prioritize purchasing activities based on production needsCreate and manage purchase orders and supplier forecastsTrack and maintain open orders until completionEnsure supplier acknowledgements and follow up as neededExpedite materials and communicate shortages internallyAdjust orders to align with production schedules (postpone, cancel, etc.)Investigate and resolve invoice discrepanciesManage supplier non-conformances and participate in follow-up discussionsSupport continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and increase efficiencyCollaborate across departments to keep operations running smoothlyFollow company procedures, 5S practices, and Code of ConductMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong communication skills, both written and verbalSolid time management and ability to juggle shifting prioritiesExperience working with ERP systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong negotiation and decision-making skillsHigh attention to detail and problem-solving abilityCollaborative mindset with strong business awarenessPreferred QualificationsExperience in the EMS (electronics manufacturing services) industryAdvanced Microsoft Office skillsFamiliarity with electronic components such as circuit boards and processorsStrong complex problem-solving skillsWORKING CONDITIONSTypical working conditions at Kitron are indoors, safe, well lit, temperature controlled, low exposure to noxious fumes or offensive odors, clean and sanitary conditions with average light industrial noise. Production areas have machinery with moving parts. Static dissipative smock, and shoes are required.
