Brief DescriptionJob Title: Director of Mental Health Division: ProgramsLocation: VickersStatus: Full-Time, Exempt Salary: $80,000-92,5000Job DescriptionReporting to the Associate Chief Impact Officer (ACIO), the Director of Mental Health Programming is a critical member of the Impact Team. Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver seeks to meet the social and emotional needs in our community through formalized mental health supports in all Clubs. The Director of Mental Health Programming oversees the mental and emotional health strategy, programming design, and implementation, while also supervising a team of mental health professionals who are charged with the day-to-day interactions, support, and referrals needed to meet Club Members’ needs. The director is responsible for supporting, informing, and leading the organization’s social-emotional learning efforts and trauma-informed practices.Below are details of the Director’s essential job duties:Mental Health Initiative Drive the strategy, direction, and implementation of BGCMD’s Club-based mental health supports, including the mental health professionals’ performance and Support and regularly update organizational policy in conjunction with NASW code of ethics, Colorado Statutes for Mandated Reporters, and BGCMD’s Standard Operating Act internally as the primary mental health program contact point, and externally as the primary contact for state and other agencies including compliance Evolve organizational mental health interventions adapting to ever-changing best practices (evidence-based, therapeutic orientations, warm handoffs, ) Facilitate ongoing training for mental health professionals and member-facing Club staff focusing on increased clinical effectiveness and adaptation of industry best practices. Promote and represent our mental health programs to our various external stakeholders Including but not limited to responsibility for grant requirements and data collection Define Key Performance Indicators and drive the mental health team towards the highest quality of trauma-informed practice. Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities related to BGCMD’s mental health initiative. Works closely with the Trauma Informed Team from Boys & Girls Clubs of America to ensure alignment with national efforts. Engage regularly with the Club Operations team on Incident Reporting and Occasional night and weekend responses are required. Ensures HIPAA compliance with all reporting and tracking functionalities; manages database implementation and practice across the team to ensure effective data practices Ensure the efficacy of evidence-based curriculum implementation and deliverySupport for Mental Health Professional Team Leads a team of ~15 direct and indirect reports by providing support, coaching, feedback, supervision, and guidance to ensure a high-performing team Manages team performance with clear performance objectives and reinforces principles of accountability. Establishes and continuously evaluates the department’s performance metrics, team structure, and annual plans for continuous improvement. Provides team members with professional and personal growth through ongoing talent management practices including leadership development, skill development, and position-specific articles/books/training. Provide regular clinical support for the mental health team including MSW, BSW, and interns. This includes assessing social, emotional, and other causes of escalated behavior in members Conduct ongoing group consultation and individual weekly supervision Serve as case consultant for complex cases as needed Foster positive relationships with local MSW programs to ensure a robust annual intern cohort Ensure high-quality documentation is maintained Collaborate with the Human Resources Team in the hiring of new mental health team professionals as needed Respond to member and Club emergencies and implement action plans as needed Conduct weekly observations of mental health professionals in the Clubs, coaching on areas of growth and particular SEL needs of each ClubQualifications Master’s Degree in Social Work Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW): active license status in the state of Strong passion for connecting members and families to the highest quality mental health services, driven by evidence-based Must have a deep understanding of the mental health needs of the BGCMD members and their families Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations Ability to build strong relationships with school administrators in 6 local Districts Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA requirements Strong public speaking and community advocacy skills Preferred bilingual: English/Spanish Capacity to work independently to organize, prioritize, manage, and successfully execute multiple assignments simultaneously and deal with frequent change or unexpected Excellent written and verbal communication Excellent facilitation and training skills for a variety of Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Candidates must be able to pass a drug test that screens for marijuana, criminal and driving records investigations and reference The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required. The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion. The ability to read and write is necessary to complete reports, and properly document program, and organizational Must be willing to travel to BGCMD’s Clubs (currently 27 sites) on a regular basis, while being based at the BGCMD Vickers Club. A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy is also a requirement This role operates primarily in person, with the opportunity to work from home one day per week as scheduling permits.
