Industrial / Marine Mechanic - Overtime Available - Norfolk, VA

Job Description Shipyard operations in Hampton Roads are expanding and we are seeking experienced Marine Mechanics and Industrial Mechanics to support ongoing maintenance and repair work on vessel and marine equipment projects in Norfolk, Newport News, Portsmouth and Chesapeake.This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems that support shipyard and vessel operations. Candidates should be comfortable working in a marine industrial environment and collaborating with other skilled trades.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance and repair on barge and shipboard mechanical systemsDiagnose mechanical issues and implement repairs using appropriate tools and methodsInstall and align mechanical components according to technical drawings and specificationsPerform upgrades and modifications to mechanical systems when requiredRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsMaintain records of repairs, installations, and maintenance activitiesWork closely with other trades and departments to complete projects efficientlyQualifications- Minimum 3 years experience as a Marine Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic, or similar trade- Strong knowledge of marine mechanical systems including:Mechanical systemsPlumbing systemsElectrical componentsCommunication systemsCHT systemsAir conditioning and refrigeration systemsAbility to work in confined spaces and physically demanding environmentsAbility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional extended shiftsMust be eligible to obtain DBIDS accessMultiple positions are available, with placement and pay determined by experience level and demonstrated marine mechanical skills.Company DescriptionSince 1992, Tidewater Staffing, Inc.
