Summary
Junior pattern maker supports senior pattern makers in creating, modifying, and maintaining patterns for women’s apparel. Attending fit sessions and making necessary pattern adjustments for improving garment prior to production.
Responsibilities
Assist in creating basic patterns from design sketches, samples, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Follow established pattern-making standards to ensure accuracy in measurements, seam allowances, and garment specifications.
Work with prototypes to evaluate fit and garment construction, then make any pattern adjustments under supervision.
Checking measurements and quality of first fit, pre-production and production samples submitted for approval by factories.
Maintain accurate records of patterns, including changes and specifications, for future use.
Learn and apply garment construction knowledge to understand how patterns translate into finished products.
Collaborate with designers, and production staff to ensure patterns meet both creative and manufacturing requirements.
Qualifications
Basic technical drawing and CAD software skills (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, Optitex).
Understanding of fabric properties, drape, and behavior.
Attention to detail and precision in measurements.
Ability to assess accuracy of garment compared to Tech Pack, critically evaluate garment construction.
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
Strong communication skills for coordinating with design and production teams.
