Job Description
:Production LeadResponsible for implementing, coordinating and assigning overall duties, policies and procedures within the production area, ensuring all processes are in compliance within specifications and standards. Maintains daily checks and effective communication among shifts. Provides training and any resources needed within the scope of work.Schedule:1:45-2:00pm- this position supports Corn line and Chip lineWorking days:Corn line schedule: Sunday- Thurs works every other FridayChip Line schedule: Sunday- Friday (OFF Saturday)PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:· Supervises Production employees.· Obtains production schedule, requests necessary work materials & distributes among the operators and line workers.· Monitors productivity, downtime and reduce waste to standards.· Performs random weight inspections of product to and take necessary actions to ensure targets are met.· Provides relief to production personnel as necessary (i.e. lunch time, absenteeism, breaks, etc).· Coordinates change over with process operators and packaging personnel.· Properly completes all documentation and reports.· Enters data into SAP system, according to work instructions.· Verifies code dates, sealing, product weight, and product appearance, is within specified parameters and conform to clients’ expectations.· Ensures trays, pallets and/or boxes are within standards.· Verifies equipment is in good working condition; communicates to management any deficiencies noted.· Performs visual inspection of product ensuring quality is acceptable.· Verifies all personnel are present and well suited to work.· Trains new employees and monitors and evaluates their progress (includes Safety, Preventive Controls & Food Safety); recommends transfers and promotions.· Fills in for supervisor in absence.· Verifies GMP’s and Safety standards are maintained at all times and take action and/or follow-up when deficiencies are noted.· Consistently applies company rules per employee handbook and per company policies (i.e. attendance, safety, etc.) and ensures safety regulations, policies and procedures are followed.· Monitors schedules, timecards, and prepare all HR – related paperwork, including disciplinary actions, ESNs, Attendance Forms, etc.· Ensures all food safety principles and legal requirements have been applied effectively.· Must work various shifts and hours including holidays and weekends.· Other duties, as assigned.Education:High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.Associates degree preferred.Experience:2 years of experience in a production line in a manufacturing plant required.Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred.Previous leadership experience preferred.*Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExperience overseeing a production line is highly preferredMust have good organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize assigned work.Experience with manufacturing safety concepts, applications and committees.Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices.Must be able to work independently with a proven record of follow-though, teamwork and accountabilityExcellent people skills with the ability to adapt to system changes as needed.Good math skillsAble to perform simple analysisSAP & ADP knowledge preferredEffectively communicate in Spanish and EnglishBe able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for long periods of timeAble to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold and small areas.Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.Be able to lift up to 50lbs"Gruma Corporation and its affiliates, including but not limited to Azteca Milling, L.P., are committed to a policy of Equal Employment Opportunity and will not discriminate against an applicant or employee on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, age, physical or mental disability, veteran or military status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, or any other legally recognized protected basis under federal, state, or local law.
