Experienced Generator Service Technician

We've proudly served our community for over 10 years. We're looking for an experienced Generator Service Technician who enjoys solving problems, not just checking boxes. This role is centered on diagnosing issues, tracking down failures, and making real repairs on residential and light commercial generator systems. You'll work independently in the field, trusted to apply your experience and judgment. While preventative maintenance is part of the job during slower seasons, this position is built for techs who thrive on troubleshooting, repair, and getting systems back online when it counts. Position Summary The Generator Service Technician is responsible for identifying electrical and mechanical issues, performing repairs, and restoring generators to safe, reliable operation. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, independence in the field, and professionalism when working directly with customers. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot generator electrical, mechanical, and control system failures Perform generator repairs, component replacements, and corrective maintenance Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation Conduct preventative maintenance as needed during off-peak seasons Accurately document service calls, repairs, and parts used Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings and recommendations Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment Compensation: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications Benefits: Medical insurance (50% employee-covered) DentalVision coverage Retirement plan with up to 3% company match Six paid holidays PTO available after 90 days Company-provided phone, iPad, uniforms, and performance bonuses Work Schedule: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday, overtime as required Required Qualifications 3+ years of generator service and repair experience Generac or Kohler certification Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems Ability to work independently in the field Must have own tools Valid driver's license with insurable driving record Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work in attics and outdoor environments If you're ready to work in a supportive, team-oriented environment where you're empowered to grow, we'd love to hear from you!
