Substitute Bus Driver

Substitute School Bus DriverApplicant must be at least 21 years old, have a clean driving record and possess a current CDL, class B with school bus and airbrake endorsements. Applicant must pass a background check, submit a drug test, and pass a physical. The driver must be able to operate the bus, observing all laws, rules and regulations.Willing to secure Commercial Drivers License (CDL) including all necessary endorsements and training: Passenger, School Bus, "B", AirbrakesHold a class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsementMeet the physical examination standards of the federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policyIs twenty-one years of age or olderSafe driving experience as determined by the BoardPass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug test, and random drug tests while employedAbility to pass CPR and first aid coursesKnowledge of bus passenger safety and effective discipline proceduresWorks well with students, staff, and parentsAwareness of and commitment to proper bus maintenanceFollows board and school policies and guidelinesAbility to stand, walk, and sit frequently or for prolonged periods of time. Additional physical abilities include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, stooping/crouching, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, and near/far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field of vision. May be required to lift 60 lbs. and work in an environment with exposure to petroleum fumes and work occasionally outside. May be required to work flexible hours including early morning and late evenings.Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by administration. The employee period shall be for (12) months. The salary will be determined by the Board of Trustees.
