Java Api Developer

Vertex IT Systems is seeking an experienced Java API Developer to join our backend development team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot for domain services, a strong understanding of GraphQL for the orchestration layer, and a solid foundation in Kafka and MongoDB. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable APIs and will work with cross-functional teams to integrate backend services and ensure high-performance data flows.Job Responsibilities:·     API Development: Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java Spring Boot for domain services.·     GraphQL Integration: Work with Apollo Server to create and maintain a robust orchestration layer using GraphQL for efficient querying.·     Messaging: Implement and manage messaging queues using Kafka for real-time data processing and communication.·     Database Management: Develop and optimize database interactions with MongoDB, ensuring high availability and performance.·     Pipeline Management: Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate code into GitLab CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless deployments and delivery.·     Security: Implement security measures including authentication, authorization, and encryption, ensuring compliance with API security best practices.·     Testing & Documentation: Write unit and integration tests, document API endpoints, and maintain overall system documentation.·     Collaboration: Work closely with front-end teams, product owners, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.Job Skills/Qualification Requirements:·     Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.·     3+ years of professional experience in Java development, with a focus on API development using Spring Boot.·     Strong experience in building and maintaining GraphQL APIs using Apollo Server.·     Proficiency with Kafka for messaging systems and real-time data processing.·     Hands-on experience with MongoDB and knowledge of NoSQL database optimization techniques.·     Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and delivery.·     Knowledge of microservices architecture and best practices.·      Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex distributed systems.Preferred Skills:* Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.* Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.* Understanding of event-driven architecture and message brokers.* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
