Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Cabling Technician to join our team. In this role, you will install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems and low voltage infrastructure across a variety of commercial job sites including office buildings, retail spaces, schools, and healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Install, route, and terminate low voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, coaxial cable in commercial environments (fiber termination a plus)
Mount and wire AV equipment, security cameras, access control systems, and network data racks/patch panels
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specifications
Perform cable testing and certification using Fluke or similar test equipment and document results
Dress and label cable runs neatly in accordance with TIA/EIA standards
Install support structures, including cable racks, j-hooks, innerduct
Use basic hand tools
Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, and other trades on active job sites
Troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues and signal/connectivity problems
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
Maintain a neat professional appearance
Complete daily work orders, job documentation, and material tracking accurately
Required Qualifications
Proficiency with Cat6/Cat6A, fiber optic, coaxial, and AV cabling installation and termination
Experience with cable testing and certification equipment (e.g., Fluke or equivalent)
Familiarity with TIA/EIA-568 wiring standards and best practices
Ability to read blueprints, floor plans, and riser diagrams
Comfortable working on ladders, scissor lifts, and in confined spaces
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with access control
IP camera systems
Fiber optic splicing or fusion experience
Forklift or aerial lift certification
Work Conditions
Full‑time position; Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm
Travel to commercial job sites within the service area
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including climbing, kneeling, and working overhead
