Kids Club Program Coordinator
Richstone Family Center (RFC) is dedicated to preventing and treating child abuse and trauma; strengthening and educating families; and decreasing violence in families, schools and communities. Since 1974, RFC has established itself to provide comprehensive services that include: trauma focused treatment and therapy, crisis intervention, group support facilitation, parenting and anger management classes, home visits, psycho-educational and self-esteem building workshops, and youth academic support programs.
The Program Coordinator oversees Richstone’s on-site, year-round, after-school Kids Club program, serving up to 50 children in grades 1-8. The Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for daily operations and program implementation, including student outreach and retention, as well as initiatives that promote students’ social, emotional, and academic growth.A successful Program Coordinator will manage complex and detailed tasks simultaneously, incorporate an interdisciplinary approach to program development, utilize analytical skills and creativity, function well and demonstrate sound judgment under stressful situations, and work collaboratively and independently with key stakeholders and partnering organizations.The Program Coordinator will supervise a staff of three people and work closely with Senior Management on volunteer management and inter-agency program referrals.
Job Duties
Provide leadership and supervision to program staff and volunteers.
Support the vision, mission and goals of Richstone and the Kids Club Afterschool Program.
Ensure the safety of students at all times.
Participate in the hiring, training, ongoing development, and evaluation of program staff.
Design, implement, and oversee disguised learning, literacy, homework, nutrition and enrichment components of the program.
Work with staff to maintain enrollment numbers and daily attendance.
Work collaboratively with students, parents, and volunteers.
Conduct parent meetings.
Support Richstone with public relations efforts.
Conduct presentations to philanthropic groups, potential donors, and the community.
Coordinate and participate in Richstone/Kids Club special events.
Develop and monitor program budget.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the program.
Maintain accurate student and program records for activities and participation.
Document and monitor student outcomes.
Collaborate with the Clinical Director on possible internal referrals to other agency programs.
Inventory and purchase program supplies.
Work closely with the Development team to provide volunteer management and training.
Other duties deemed vital to the organization.
Proposed Work Schedule (subject to occasional variation):
Monday and Wednesday: 2:00PM - 6:00PM
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 12:30PM - 6:00PM
Some weekends required
Qualifications:
BA preferred in a related field.
Experience working with school age children.
Experience supervising a staff of three or more, preferred
Bilingual and bi-literate in English and Spanish strongly preferred but not required.
Excellent computer literacy skills; ability to use databases and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations of adults, youth and children.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and abilities to work well both independently and as a member of a team.
Knowledge of child development.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must maintain appropriate boundaries with clients, community partners/stakeholders and Richstone staff.
Ability to work independently and implement effective time management strategies.
Flexible schedule including some evening and weekend availability.
Must successfully complete a background check.
Automobile with valid California driver license and current auto insurance.
