The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, profitability, and operational performance of the company. This includes daily oversight of mitigation, reconstruction, and remodeling divisions, ensuring superior customer experience, cost efficiency, and sustainable growth. The General Manager leads department heads in operations, project management, estimating, and office administration; drives accountability; and upholds a culture of service excellence and ethical business practices.
General Manager Responsibilities:
Develop and execute annual business plans, budgets, and KPIs aligned with company growth targets
Champion a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance across all departments
Participate in strategic decision-making with ownership regarding financial growth, territory expansion, and service line development
Oversee job intake, estimation, scheduling, production, and close-out across mitigation, reconstruction and remodel projects
Implement and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality control.
Maintain compliance with IICRC, OSHA, and local building codes.
Manage vendor and subcontractor performance to guarantee white glove delivery standards.
Own the company P&L and drive profitability through margin management, cost controls, and process improvement.
Monitor job costing, billing cycles, receivables, and collections with administrative and accounting staff.
Identify opportunities to improve gross margins and reduce overheads through operational efficiencies.
Serve as the escalation point for high-volume or sensitive clients, delivering premium service and satisfaction.
Ensure proactive communication throughout project lifecycles, protecting client trust and brand reputation.
Foster strong relationships with insurance adjusters, property managers, and repeat customers.
Recruit, train, and mentor key staff including project managers, estimators, and administrative leaders.
Set clear expectations, conduct performance reviews, and ensure continuous professional growth.
Promote a safe, compliant, and positive work environment that attracts and retains top industry talent.
General Manager Requirements:
5+ years of management experience within the construction industry
Proven track record of managing $3-10 million multi-crew operations with both mitigation and reconstruction divisions.
Proven ability to build, motivate and maintain a high performing team
Proficiency with the Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and internet and software Systems
Organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize a variety of tasks/projects
Self‑motivated, responsible, and accountable. Identifies own learning needs and seeks appropriate steps to continue continual self‑development
Bilingual
BA/BS required or equivalent experience
