Job Description EHS Manager - Manufacturing Environment Position Overview The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading all site-level environmental, health, and safety functions within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with plant leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize risk, and drive a proactive, safety-first culture across the facility. The position operates within a broader manufacturing leadership structure and plays a critical role in aligning site-level safety strategy with enterprise initiatives, while supporting operational performance and continuous improvement efforts. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and implement comprehensive EHS programs to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulationsServe as the subject matter expert for environmental and safety compliance, providing guidance across all levels of the organizationManage all environmental permitting and regulatory reporting requirements (air, stormwater, wastewater, waste management, etc.)Develop and monitor KPIs and metrics to proactively identify risks and drive continuous improvementPartner with plant leadership to embed safety into all operational processes and decision-makingConduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to reduce hazards and improve site safety performanceAnalyze incident and safety data to identify trends, root causes, and corrective actionsLead incident investigations and ensure timely, effective resolution to prevent recurrenceDevelop and deliver training programs to ensure workforce understanding of safety procedures and compliance requirementsMaintain relationships with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, local authorities, etc.)Oversee contractor safety programs and ensure adherence to site safety standardsSupport capital and operational projects to ensure safety and environmental requirements are metDevelop and implement emergency response plans, including drills and site readinessDrive employee engagement in safety initiatives and foster a culture of accountability Leadership ExpectationsChampion a safety-first culture across all levels of the organizationLead through influence in a cross-functional environmentDrive change management initiatives related to EHS programs and policiesBalance compliance requirements with operational efficiency Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related technical disciplineMinimum of 5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environmentStrong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory frameworks • Preferred QualificationsProfessional certification (CSP, CIH, or similar)Experience managing environmental permits and regulatory reportingStrong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilityDemonstrated success implementing EHS programs in a plant environmentExperience with safety management systems and reporting toolsLean or Six Sigma training (Green Belt or higher preferred)Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) a plus Ideal Candidate ProfileSelf-starter who can operate autonomously in a fast-paced environmentStrong communicator able to engage both leadership and frontline employeesProven ability to influence without direct authorityStrategic thinker who can translate data into actionable improvementsResilient and adaptable in changing business conditions Opportunity HighlightsHigh-impact site leadership role within a manufacturing environmentOpportunity to shape and elevate safety culture at the plant levelExposure to both operational leadership and broader organizational strategyStrong platform for career growth within a multi-site environment
