Assistant General Manager - Distribution Operations
Company OverviewA well-established distribution and logistics organization is seeking an experienced operations leader to support the management of a high-volume distribution facility in South Central Pennsylvania.This confidential opportunity offers the chance to join a fast-paced operation where leadership, customer service, and operational excellence are critical to success.Position OverviewWe are seeking a results-driven Assistant General Manager to serve as the second-in-command for a large-scale distribution operation. Reporting to the site leader, this individual will help oversee all aspects of daily operations, including workforce management, customer service, financial performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.The ideal candidate will have 4–6+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehousing, logistics, transportation, or distribution operations.Key Responsibilities:Operational LeadershipSupport the day-to-day management of a high-volume distribution center.Maximize operational efficiency through performance metrics and process improvement initiatives.Ensure service, productivity, and cost objectives are achieved.Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as needed.Analyze workflow and staffing needs to align labor with customer demands.Team Leadership & DevelopmentRecruit, train, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly associates.Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.Address employee relations matters, including performance management and corrective action.Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and high performance.Customer ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Ensure customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded.Communicate operational results and improvement initiatives.Safety & CompliancePromote and maintain a strong safety culture.Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions.Financial ManagementAssist in managing budgets and operating expenses.Analyze P&L performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.Support billing, payment reconciliation, and other administrative functions.Qualifications4–6+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehousing, logistics, distribution, or transportation.Proven success leading teams in a fast-paced operational environment.Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Experience managing budgets and interpreting financial reports.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.Experience in high-volume distribution or fulfillment environments.Demonstrated success in continuous improvement and workforce development.Physical RequirementsAbility to walk and stand for extended periods.Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salaryPerformance-based bonus opportunityComprehensive benefits packagePaid time off and holidays401(k) with company matchCareer advancement opportunitiesEqual Opportunity EmployerWe are committed to building an inclusive workplace and are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
