Engineering Intern
Summer Intern - EngineerStudents have an opportunity to gain real-world operations and engineering experience in a manufacturing environment through a summer or fall internship with our Lancaster, OH-based R&D group. As an intern, you will work on critical projects that support daily operations, safety, quality, and productivity improvements in our products and processes. While full-time employment after the internship isn't guaranteed, our goal is to prepare interns for potential full-time positions within our organization.Key Projects/Duties for This Internship:Qualify alternate coatings and substrates for metal closures.Work hours are M-F 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with flexible start/stop times that satisfy core hours and provide 8 hours of work.Qualifications:Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, ideally as a rising Junior.Minimum GPA of 2.8.Availability to work 40 hours per week.Willingness to relocate if necessary.Background in Lean/Six Sigma is helpful but not required.Mechanically inclined.Leadership experience is a plus.Basic understanding of engineering drawings; ability to use AutoCAD or similar CAD software for detailed drawings.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.Maturity and a high level of professionalism.High degree of personal motivation and discipline.Independent thinking and resourcefulness in problem-solving.Ability to interface with various levels of staff, from engineers to management to production employees.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
