The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of education, faculty development, research, and scholarly activity within the department. This role is pivotal in building the academic framework and enhancing the profile of cardiothoracic surgery. Additionally, the Chair will unify the clinical governance of cardiac, vascular, and thoracic services across a multi-hospital academic health system, with a focus on advancing high-quality, patient-centered care, driving program growth and innovation, and fostering multidisciplinary collaboration.Applicants must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution, be board-certified, and fellowship-trained in cardiothoracic surgery. A distinguished record of clinical excellence, programmatic leadership, and academic contribution is essential, as is experience in strategic planning, organizational development, and fiscal management. The role requires strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills, as well as a commitment to integrating clinical excellence with academic advancement.
