Assistant Site Manager SUMMARY: Oversee the in-port operations, ensuring the safety policies and procedures are followed by all parties involved with the projects. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the onshore (load out area and yard) activities comply with CWS safety policies and procedures. Assist in preparing project execution plans and strategies, which are aligned with the project goals and objectives. Oversee the in-port operation of grillage/sea fastening for the loadout of the transport barge and participate in the pre-departure inspection of such sea fastening. Provide technical input on modifications to equipment associated with the transport barge. Assist in trouble shooting mechanical issues associated with equipment used for the transport of WTG components. Manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, stakeholders and interact with multidisciplinary teams. Assist in the review of external documentation associated with the project. Identify and mitigate operational, technical, and environmental risks. Prepare and implement specific (working) methods with risk analysis. Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders and manage expectations. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from a maritime academy; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education. EXPERIENCE: 2-4 years seagoing experience in offshore construction field. Prior vessel management experience preferred. Knowledge of offshore construction vessels (Cable Lay, Heavy Lift, OSV, SOVs, CTVs, etc.) preferred. DP Certification and offshore towing experience preferred. COMPETENCIES: Maintain high standards of ethical conduct, honesty, and integrity. Strong focus on safety. Good attitude for teamwork. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to apply skill sets and demonstrate proven experience developing, improving, and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives. Core understanding of technical matters involved in vessel operations such as navigation, propulsion systems, ship construction, Dynamic Positioning, Cranes and Active Gangways Flexibility with travel-based on the overall project goals Experience influencing and directing motivated, cross-functional teams. Ability to recognize, differentiate, and direct responses to technical issues. Great written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to perform under high priority and innovative work environment handling multiple deliverables. English communications skills (verbal, active listening, written, meeting management, presentation) Ability to influence across organizational boundaries with a solid focus on working with and understanding different cultures. Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels OTHER: Must be able to work in a drug free workplace; never under the influence of mind-altering prescriptions or non-prescription drugs, including alcohol, and other drugs of abuse. Valid driver’s license. JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments. Must be able, and willing to travel worldwide on short notice for indefinite periods of time. Flexible work schedule, on-call 24 hours a day / 7 days a week unless on scheduled time off. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside an office environment and outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
