Wellness Receiver
Description:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Supports co-op core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
Anticipates incoming deliveries and directs work to maximize efficiency of storage areas.
Receives and checks deliveries to verify quantity and quality.
Coordinates customer returns ensuring that returned items get back to appropriate suppliers in a timely manner and that credits are issued. Notifies appropriate staff of discrepancies.
Signs for deliveries with appropriate adjustments noted on invoice and routes invoice appropriately, and does occasional backup or fill-in buying.
Scans all invoices to check for pricing discrepancies and ensure correct discounts are applied.
Assists with ordering, receiving, and unloading as assigned.
Maintains accurate records.
Maintains department equipment in working order, keeps and monitors applicable maintenance logs, and ensures proper personnel are notified of breakdowns.
Protects store assets by participating in periodic inventory, following established security practices/policies, and handling injuries/incidents to minimize store liability.
Assists customers in finding requested Wellness items and in answering questions regarding products and the co-op.
Ensures inventory is stored and stocked according to standard procedures.
Participates in department meetings and trainings.
Handles all Wellness products in a safe and sanitary manner.
Maintains cleanliness and neatness in the department.
Commits to professional and congenial interactions with all customers, internal and external.
Documents and disposes of damaged or wasted product.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience.
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a retail environment.
A minimum of one (1) year’s experience and familiarity with natural foods.

Must possess a high level of initiative and demonstrated ability to utilize resources effectively.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with others.
Comfortable with sales and promoting products to customers.

Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Views change as inevitable, good, and healthy.
Must possess good organization and communication skills.
Knowledge of organic food, farming, sustainability, health and nutrition.

Computer proficiency and familiarity with MS Office Suite, Excel preferred.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Available for work on a consistent and timely basis with infrequent unplanned absences.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Flexibility to work any shift, including mornings, middays, evenings, weekends.
Ability to work in varying temperatures (approximately 20°F – 90°F).
Ability to stand or sit for long periods at a time.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and climb.
Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and unassisted.
Reliable access to transportation.
