Research & Policy Learning FellowshipLocation: Remote (MA & CT preferred)Duration: June 1, 2026 – August 28, 2026 (Unpaid)Time Commitment: 5–10 hours/week (Remote)About the ProgramDigital Defenders Inc. is looking for Research & Policy Learning Fellows focused on youth digital safety, cybersecurity awareness, and online behavior trends. This program is designed to provide participants with hands-on exposure to how research is developed, including how topics are explored, how surveys are designed at a high level, and how findings are reviewed and communicated in public-facing formats.Fellows will participate in structured weekly sessions, guided exercises, and collaborative discussions aimed at building foundational research and analytical skills in a supervised learning environment.Program StructureIn this educational fellowship, participants will:Learn research and survey design principlesEngage in guided discussions and exercisesAssist with research organization tasks under supervisionProvide feedback and ideas during structured sessionsThe fellowship is designed for learning and skill development, with all final research outputs authored and produced by Digital Defenders Inc.What You'll GainExperience learning how real-world research is developedExposure to youth digital safety and cybersecurity topicsGuided practice in research thinking and analysisMentorship and structured feedback sessionsUnderstanding of how public reports are created and communicatedResponsibilitiesUnder guidance from the program lead, fellows may:Participate in weekly group discussionsBrainstorm potential survey questions and provide wording suggestions in a collaborative settingReview draft materials and provide feedback on clarity from a reader perspectiveAssist in guided exercises focused on organizing research materialsParticipate in structured learning activities exploring how themes appear in example datasetsEngage in exercises designed to build familiarity with interpreting research conceptsQualificationsCollege student/recent graduate interested in education, research, cybersecurity, or public policyStrong curiosity and willingness to learnStrong written communication skillsAbility to participate in collaborative discussionsPrior research experience is preferred but not requiredThis is a part-time, unpaid educational fellowship. Fellows are expected to commit approximately 5–10 hours per week and participate in weekly group sessions.
