This role bridges technical system modeling and programming, offering an exciting opportunity to work on the cutting edge of electric power systems and market development. Key Responsibilities: Develop and enhance long-term transmission models to improve system reliability and market simulations. Utilize programming skills to automate model updates, data processes and reporting. Manage and optimize databases, including MS Access, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. Collaborate with system and market teams to integrate modeling with power system applications. Analyze and process large datasets to derive actionable insights. Contribute to documentation and provide technical support for transmission system models. Key Attributes & Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a related technical field Programming Skills: Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, C#, R, VBA, or similar Database Knowledge: Hands-on experience with MS Access, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL Strong analytical skills with the ability to process and manipulate large datasets Familiarity with electric power systems and/or electric markets Understanding of power flow, market modeling tools, or related grid simulation concepts Experience with visualization tools for presenting technical results (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
