While working under the guidance of journeyman electricians, you will learn to install, modify, inspect, repair, and maintain electrical fixtures in electrical systems according to applicable building code. The purpose of your apprenticeship is to earn your journeyman license so you can then teach apprentice electricians the trade.ResponsibilitiesLearn to identify electrical and safety problemsTake necessary corrective action to fix electrical and safety problemsLearn to read blueprintsComplete quality control sheetsManage multiple projects simultaneouslyAttend apprentice school one night per week until journeyman license is earned (Arkansas employees are required to attend our in-house Electrical Apprenticeship school)Learn from and take instruction from supervisorsLearn and perform necessary tasks from all phases of electricalQualificationsLeadership skills and the ability to empower individuals on your teamAbility to produce quality workExcellent communication skills to be used when working with builders, general contractors, and project managersKnowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and proceduresAbility to follow directionsHigh school diploma or equivalentValid driver's licenseStrong work ethic that you display dailyAbility to work 6 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday and an occasional SaturdayCore Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects, typically up to 50–75 lbs independentlyCapacity to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces (like crawlspaces or attics), and kneeling or crouching for extended periodsStrong hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small tools and components with precisionAbility to stand and walk for the duration of an 8–12 hour shift, often in varying weather conditions or non-climate-controlled environmentsWhy work for Kimbel Mechanical?
