The steward also maintains all kitchen equipment and the environment according to the Health Department code and keeps food service areas clean and sanitized.JOB ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare tableware for washing, i.e., scrape plates, pre-soak silverware, and place all items to be washed in their proper dishwasher rackSet up dishwashing machine, i.e., drains closed, tanks filled, temperatures at the correct level, detergent at the proper levelWash, stack, and store china in the appropriate kitchen areaClean dishwashing equipment and working areasCollect all soiled pots, wash, and restack cleaned pots on shelvesResponsible for all removal of garbage and refuseMop and sweep floorsWash walls and ceiling tilesSanitize all cooking equipmentAssist in maintaining necessary inventories of kitchen cleaning products and equipmentMaintain all areas for a safe, clean environment based on the Health Department and internal standardsAssist others when neededAcknowledge and respond to guests immediatelyAnswer questions about Harrah's facilities and servicesResponsible for the overall cleanliness of the dining areas, recycling room, and dumpster areaResponsible for the sorting of recyclablesAdhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies/procedures in an ethical mannerEndorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision, and ValuesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A high school diploma or GED is preferredMust demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:Knowledge of sanitation standards and proceduresMust have speed and accuracy to maintain maximum efficiencyNeat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygieneDemonstrated teamwork behaviors and attitudesSelf-motivated; self-starterAble to operate the dish machineKnowledge of sanitation standards and proceduresAble to attend to multiple priorities simultaneouslyExcellent interpersonal skillsKnowledge of dish machine maintenance and chemical safetyTeam playerServSafe certification is required**Can be completed within 90 days of the hire datePHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodationsMust be able to respond to visual and aural cuesMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishMust be able to handle high stress in the work environment and turn stress into high energyMust be able to tolerate areas with high temperatures near dish machine and extreme cold temperatures in coolers and freezersMust be able to use the chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen areasMust be able to be on feet for an 8-hour shiftMust be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grasp items while performing kitchen dutiesMust be able to lift and carry 50 pounds and be able to push and pull up to 300 pounds in a cartMust be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality, including secondhand smokeMust be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidaysThis is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job.
