Base Building Superintendent

Job Description Description:Summary:We are searching for a detail-oriented Superintendent with 5-20 years' experience in base building commercial construction. The Superintendent directs field staff, subcontractors, materials deliveries, and activities necessary to successfully complete a project of varying complexity to produce a quality product on time, within the project budget, complying with safety standards and exceeding customers' expectations.Vantage Construction Corporation's mission is to provide high quality construction services on time, safely, and at a fair price. Other duties may be assigned.Assists in developing a project mobilization plan as well as reviews the plans and specs for scope and constructabilityDevelops, monitors, and executes the most efficient means, methods, and techniques of performing work in coordination with the internal project management team which consists of a Project Manager and Assistant Project ManagerDevelops and maintains harmonious relations with owner representatives, subcontractors, vendors, and various jurisdictional inspectorsFamiliarity with all trades associated with base building commercial construction including but not limited to site work, concrete, masonry, steel, rough carpentry, roofing, framing and GWB, finish trades and MEP tradesDemonstrated ability to manage a clean and well-organized construction projectUnderstands and has the relative experience to produce high quality construction work that is completed within the contractual time allotted for that workCoordinates field activities of subcontractors and suppliers and enforces safety policies and procedures for everyone on the worksiteProduces accurate project documentation to include two week look ahead schedules, as-built drawings, and daily construction reportsSeeks out ways to improve the company's processes and exceed the customer's expectationsQualificationsSurvey knowledgeComputer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office productsKnowledge of project management software programsBroad understanding of industryFamiliarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts and Purchase OrdersGood math/accounting skillsSome supervisory experienceAbility to read drawings and specificationsFunctions effectively as part of a teamDelegates work appropriatelyStrong decision making/problem solving skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsStrong communication and client service skillsEducation and/or ExperienceMinimum 5 or more years of base building experience.OSHA CertificationFirst Aid/CPR Certification
