OMS Trainer – Python & Database Skills
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced OMS (Outage Management System) Trainer with strong Python programming and Database skills to deliver technical and functional training to project teams, developers, support engineers, and end users.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Outage Management Systems (OMS), electric utility operations, Python scripting, and database management. The candidate will be responsible for developing training materials, conducting technical sessions, explaining OMS functionalities, and providing practical knowledge of system workflows, integrations, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical and functional training sessions on OMS applications and workflows.
- Train developers, technical teams, support teams, and end users on OMS functionalities.
- Explain outage management processes, including outage detection, analysis, tracking, and service restoration.
- Develop training documentation, presentations, user guides, and hands-on exercises.
- Provide practical training on Python programming, scripting, and automation.
- Train candidates on database concepts, SQL queries, stored procedures, and data handling.
- Explain database integration with OMS applications and related utility systems.
- Demonstrate Python-based scripts for data processing, automation, and troubleshooting.
- Create real-time scenarios, practical assignments, and assessments for trainees.
- Support knowledge transfer (KT), onboarding, and technical enablement activities.
- Collaborate with development, testing, and production support teams.
- Evaluate trainee performance and provide feedback to improve technical understanding.
Required Technical Skills
1. OMS (Outage Management System)
- Strong understanding of Outage Management Systems.
- Knowledge of electric utility and power distribution operations.
- Understanding of outage detection, prediction, tracking, and restoration.
- Knowledge of fault management and service restoration workflows.
- Exposure to OMS integration with SCADA, GIS, DMS, and ADMS.
2. Python Programming
- Strong knowledge of Python programming and scripting.
- Experience with Python automation and data processing.
- Knowledge of Python libraries, functions, modules, and exception handling.
- Ability to explain Python concepts through practical examples.
- Experience developing scripts for troubleshooting and automation.
3. Database Skills
- Strong SQL and database concepts.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.
- Knowledge of joins, subqueries, stored procedures, functions, and indexing.
- Experience with database queries, data validation, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of database integration and data management.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience as a Technical Trainer, OMS Trainer, or Corporate Trainer.
- Experience delivering technical training in electric utility projects.
- Knowledge of SCADA, GIS, DMS, and ADMS platforms.
- Experience with real-time utility operations and outage management.
- Strong communication, presentation, and knowledge-transfer skills.
Pay: $50.02 - $60.24 per hour
