Data Engineer - Freelance

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a large-scale data transformation programme on an initial 12-month contract.You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data platforms, working closely with Data Architects, Engineers and business stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processesBuild and maintain modern cloud-based data platformsDevelop data solutions using Python and SQLWork with large and complex datasetsIntegrate data from multiple sources and systemsSupport data modelling and data architecture initiativesOptimise data pipelines for performance and reliabilityWork closely with Data Architects and other technical teamsEnsure data quality, security and governance standards are maintainedRequired ExperienceStrong commercial experience as a Data EngineerStrong Python and SQL skillsExperience building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processesExperience with Azure, AWS or GCPExperience with Databricks, Snowflake or similar cloud data platformsStrong understanding of data modelling and data warehousingExperience working with large-scale enterprise data environmentsGood understanding of data integration and data qualityStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsDesirable ExperiencePySparkDatabricksSnowflakeAzure Data FactorydbtKafkaTerraformCI/CDData Lakehouse architecturesContract Details12-month initial contractFully remote from GermanyCompetitive daily rateEU Citizens onlyImmediate or short-term availability preferred
