Embedded Software Verification TesterLocation: Danvers, MA – OnsiteEmployment: W2 OnlyExperience: 6+ yearsJob SummarySeeking an experienced Embedded Software Verification Tester with strong expertise in embedded firmware verification and validation within a regulated healthcare/medical-device environment.Required Skills & Experience:6+ years of experience in embedded software/firmware verification and validation.Hands-on experience testing embedded communication interfaces, including SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, ADC, RTC, and non-volatile memory.Strong experience with RTOS-based systems, including timing-sensitive testing, interrupt handling, concurrency, race conditions, deadlocks, and troubleshooting.Experience with test automation using Python, Ceedling, or similar embedded testing frameworks.Hands-on experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, target hardware, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and bench testing.Experience working in regulated development environments, including requirements-based testing, traceability, verification documentation, and familiarity with IEC 62304.Experience with firmware development tools and environments, including GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, embedded build systems, IAR, or similar toolchains.ResponsibilitiesPerform embedded software verification and validation (V&V) activities.Develop and execute test cases for embedded communication protocols, including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, ADC, RTC, and memory interfaces.Troubleshoot RTOS-based systems and collaborate with developers to identify and resolve software defects.Perform Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and target hardware testing.Conduct bench testing using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other embedded test equipment.Develop and maintain automated test solutions using Python, Ceedling, or similar frameworks.Follow requirements, traceability, verification, and documentation processes in accordance with IEC 62304.Identify opportunities for test automation and propose solutions to improve testing efficiency and coverage.Collaborate closely with software, firmware, systems, and hardware engineering teams throughout the verification lifecycle.
