Senior Property Accountant

Job Description Our client is a well-established, large commercial real estate organization is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join its expanding accounting team. This role supports a diverse portfolio of commercial properties and works closely with property management, asset management, and corporate accounting teams.Position OverviewThe Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle property accounting for a portfolio of commercial real estate assets. This role requires strong commercial real estate experience, Yardi proficiency, and the ability to manage month-end close and financial reporting independently. Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly financial statements for assigned commercial propertiesManage full month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliationsPerform bank reconciliations, CAM reconciliations, and variance analysisReview and analyze general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliancePartner with property management on operating budgets and forecastsSupport annual audits and respond to auditor requestsUtilize Yardi for financial reporting, accounting transactions, and property-level dataImprove and maintain accounting processes and internal controlsQualifications3+ years of property or real estate accounting experience (commercial real estate strongly preferred)Hands-on experience with YardiStrong understanding of CAM reconciliationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldAdvanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
