With a client-focused approach, Spray-Tek provides specialized ingredient processing and turnkey supply-chain solutions to help clients achieve high-performing and value-added products.The Quality Manager leads the site’s Quality and Food Safety programs, ensuring all products and processes meet the highest standards of compliance, integrity, and performance. This role is responsible for overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS), driving continuous improvement, and ensuring adherence to cGMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements.The Quality Manager partners cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and leadership teams, while serving as a key point of contact for customers, auditors, and regulatory agencies. This role also provides leadership to the Quality team and reports directly to the Director of Operations.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Systems & ComplianceOwn and continuously improve the Quality Management System, including HACCP plans, SOPs, prerequisite programs, and document controlEnsure compliance with cGMP, food safety standards, and regulatory requirementsLead internal audit programs and oversee corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)Audit & Regulatory ManagementServe as the primary lead for external audits (customer and regulatory)Manage audit responses, investigations, and communication of corrective actionsMaintain audit readiness across all operationsQuality Assurance OperationsOversee daily Quality Assurance activities, including team supervision, workload planning, and performance managementEnsure departmental goals and quality standards are consistently metFood Safety & Environmental ProgramsLead environmental monitoring programs (pathogen testing, water quality, equipment swabbing)Analyze trends and drive proactive improvements to mitigate riskCustomer & Supplier QualityManage the customer complaint program, including investigation, root cause analysis, and resolutionSupport supplier qualification and approval processes for raw materials and packagingProvide guidance on incoming material inspection and dispositionContinuous Improvement & Issue ResolutionLead investigations into quality and food safety issues, including critical failures and deviationsDevelop and implement corrective actions, maintaining trend analysis for critical control points (CCPs)Partner with Operations to enhance product quality and process performanceTraining & DocumentationDevelop and deliver quality and food safety training programsEnsure accurate training documentation and compliance trackingLaboratory & Inventory OversightManage Quality Lab operations, including inventory control and procurementEnsure proper storage and handling of materials to maintain integrity and complianceQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Food Science or related scientific discipline (or equivalent experience)3–5 years of experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment (food or pharmaceutical preferred)1–3 years of leadership experience in QA/QCStrong knowledge of HACCP, sanitation, and quality systems within food manufacturingProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWork Environment & Physical RequirementsAbility to work in a manufacturing environment, including non-climate-controlled conditionsCapable of lifting up to 50 lbs and navigating multiple levels/stairsWhat does success look likeConsistent audit readiness with strong external audit outcomesReduced customer complaints and improved product quality metricsEffective cross-functional collaboration driving measurable quality improvementsA well-trained, high-performing Quality team *This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.It is the policy of Spray-Tek Inc. to provide equal opportunity in employment for all qualified individuals regardless of race, color, religion, ethnicity, national origin, ancestry, disability, medical condition, age, citizenship, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, pregnancy, genetic information, military status, veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by law.We maintain a drug-free/smoke free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing.
