Turf & Ornamental Specialist

Turf & Ornamental Specialist Cross Creek Grounds Management is seeking a dependable and skilled Turf & Ornamental Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a licensed spray technician through VDACS (Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services) with at least one year of hands-on experience applying pesticides. This position is essential for maintaining the health and appearance of our clients' landscapes and requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives working outdoors in all weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Safely and accurately apply pesticides to turf and ornamental landscapes in compliance with state regulations and company safety protocols. Maintain detailed, accurate records of chemical applications, work performed, and weekly schedules. Communicate effectively with team members and clients, both verbally and in writing. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs as part of daily duties. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, rain, and cold. Present a clean, professional appearance while on job sites. Follow all company policies and environmental safety standards. Be available to work occasional Saturdays based on seasonal demand. Required Qualifications VDACS pesticide applicator license (Required) Minimum 1 year of experience in pesticide or herbicide application High school diploma or GED Clean, valid driver's license Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently and within a team High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills Preferred Skills Working knowledge of turf and ornamental plant care Familiarity with application equipment and calibration techniques Ability to identify common pests, weeds, and plant diseases Benefits Four 10-hour workdays per week (Enjoy 3-day weekends!)
