Your purpose-driven work plays a vital role in protecting public health, supporting communities, and shaping a safer, more sustainable future.We are hiring a Compressed Gas Operator Day Shift - Chlorine for our Sacramento, California, plant. $23- $26 an hourJob Responsibilities:Repackage chlorine, TChlor, into totes and drumsLoad trailers with TChlor, chlorine tonnersManufacture TChlor to specific percentagesPerform maintenance tasks such as painting, washing, and bead blasting of 150's and tonsRebuild valves as neededFollow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocolsMaintain accurate documentation and recordsCommunicate effectively with team members and supervisorsThis is a day shift positionRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDAbility to stand for 8 hours a day and lift up to 50 lbsWillingness to climb ladders and work at heightsAbility to don and doff personal protective equipment (PPE) multiple times per dayStrong attention to detail and commitment to safetyExcellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environmentWillingness to learn and follow proper chemical handling proceduresPreferred Qualifications:Prior experience in chemical manufacturing or handlingFamiliarity with DOT regulations and PSM requirementsKnowledge of pumps and their operationExperience with forklift operationBasic computer skillsThe successful candidate will receive comprehensive on-the-job training in:Thatcher Company product knowledgeSafety procedures and PSM requirementsM3 software systemRailcar and truck loading/unloadingEquipment maintenance and operationThis position involves working with PSM chemicals, specifically CL2 (Chlorine). Candidates must be willing to handle hazardous materials and adhere to all safety protocols.
