SAIC is seeking an experienced and passionate Junior-level React Native Developer to join our dynamic development team in Ashburn, VA. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in mobile development, particularly with the React Native framework, and will play a critical role in designing and implementing high-quality mobile applications. This position requires on-site work in Ashburn, VA 5 days per week for the first year of employment. Job Responsibilities Design and develop engaging, intuitive and reusable React Native components. Use modern software engineering tools including VS Code, GitLab, and Atlassian suites for ticketing, documentation, development, and testing. Present solutions at formal and informal design reviews in conjunction with the Technical Lead, and document the design according to the Government's system lifecycle methodology. Understand how to interface with native code on Android and iOS from React Native. Code unit tests and end-to-end tests using the framework of choice of the team. Participate in daily scrums and code reviews. Keep up to date with React Native technology updates and trends. Required Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering field with 2+ years of technical experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in mobile development and React Native. Proven mobile development experience using React Native. Experience with native iOS and Android. Some Detox experience. Proficient in TypeScript and JavaScript. Constructing and debugging CI/CD build pipelines for mobile targets. Strong experience with Redux, Flux, or other state-management libraries. Understanding of how REST APIs work. Understanding of microservice architecture. Unit test and end-to-end test development. Desired Skills and Experience Experience using RTK Query. Understanding of how containerization and orchestration tools work. Knowledge of other mobile development frameworks or platforms. Experience working on an agile team such as Scrum. Excellent written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate information to a variety of groups at different technical skill levels. Strong initiative: take a high-level requirement, ask questions, seek clarifications, and get the job done. Ability to work in a high-pressure, tight-deadline environment. Ability to multitask efficiently and progressively and work comfortably in an ever-changing data environment. Master's degree in computer science or related engineering field is a plus. Customer Requirements Clearance – ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP background investigation. Citizenship – must be a US citizen. Location – required to be on-site in Ashburn, VA 5 days per week for the first year of employment; after the first year, the option to work a hybrid schedule (2–3 days on-site) depending on team needs.
