Project ManagerThe Project Manager leads the end-to-end execution of large-scale water utility and EPC energy/storage projects, overseeing cross-functional teams from project development through commissioning and handoff to service. This role serves as the primary client interface and is responsible for ensuring successful delivery aligned with scope, budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements while driving customer satisfaction and operational excellence.Responsibilities include:Leading full lifecycle delivery of large water utility and EPC energy/storage projects, coordinating engineering, contractors, permitting, utilities, and other stakeholdersServing as the primary point of contact for clients, managing communications, reporting, documentation (meeting minutes, action logs), and commercial coordination, including alignment with DOE requirementsDeveloping and managing scopes of work, subcontractor agreements, and change orders while maintaining accurate project financials, budgeting, and cost performanceOverseeing project schedules, including master and short-term plans; tracking progress, identifying delays, and ensuring delivery meets approved timelines, specifications, and budgetsProviding leadership and direction to cross-functional and field teams, promoting safety, operational standards, and effective collaboration across subcontractors and consultantsEnsuring compliance with all contractual, regulatory, and reporting requirements while driving overall project performance and a successful transition to operationsMinimum qualifications include:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience7+ years of project management experience with direct P&L responsibility3+ years of experience managing complex EPC or industrial projects (e.g., water, power, oil & gas, nuclear)Preferred qualifications include:Bachelor's degree in a technical engineering discipline (preferred)Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including design, permitting, and utility interconnectionProject or change management experienceExperience in energy project development and constructionGrant funding administration experienceStrong leadership, collaboration, and influencing skillsDemonstrated business acumen and financial management capabilityExperience managing Federal grantsExperience working with state utility regulatorsProven ability to operate effectively in a matrixed and global organizationGenerac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in California is $158000 - $230000 USD. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
