IT Support Engineer (MSP Tier 3)

Job Description About OCSOptimum Computer Solutions is a Managed Service Provider headquartered in The Woodlands, TX, with over 30 years of experience delivering specialized IT services to mission-critical organizations, including emergency services, local government, and private sector clients across Greater Houston. We are known for handling complex environments where getting it wrong is not an option.The OpportunityThis is not a helpdesk escalation role. We are looking for a senior IT consultant who can walk into a client environment, assess the situation, make sound recommendations, and own the outcome. You will be a trusted technical advisor to business owners and decision makers, not just a ticket closer. If you have genuine MSP depth, strong cloud skills, Fortinet experience, and the communication skills to hold a room with a non-technical executive, we want to talk.Compensation: $100,000 to $120,000 annually based on experience.What You'll DoOwn escalated and complex support issues across client environments spanning networking, security, cloud, and infrastructureServe as a primary technical consultant on client projects, including network redesigns, cloud migrations, and security implementationsDesign and deploy solutions across Fortinet platforms, including FortiGate firewalls and FortiSwitch, as well as Microsoft 365 and Azure environmentsLead client-facing engagements and communicate findings, recommendations, and project status directly to business stakeholdersMentor and provide technical guidance to Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers on the teamDocument solutions, build repeatable processes, and contribute to the internal knowledge baseParticipate in on-call rotationWho You AreMinimum 7 years of experience, 10 years preferred in an MSP or IT consulting environment at a senior levelFortinet experience is required. You need to be hands-on with FortiGate at a minimum. NSE certification is a strong plus.Deep working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and Azure, including Intune and Entra ID. Microsoft certifications, such as MS-102 or AZ-104, are a strong plus.Solid fundamentals across Windows Server, networking, VLANs, VPNs, and virtualization (VMware preferred, Hyper-V a plus)Experienced with backup and disaster recovery platformsYou communicate as well as you troubleshoot.
