In-House Litigation Paralegal
Role DescriptionNewCo Capital Group is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our in-house legal and collections team in New York City. The role focuses on the day-to-day handling of litigation, including motions, discovery, petitions, complaints, communicating and corresponding with the courts, judgments and more. The Paralegal will partner with the company's attorneys and legal staff to implement litigation and collections strategies. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in civil litigation, judgment enforcement, and collections. This is a collaborative, detail-oriented role that works closely with the legal team and external partners. This is a full-time, on-site role. Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation of legal documents for the company’s in-house legal teamTracking lawsuits from commencement, through litigation and to judgmentMotion practice, discovery and other litigation documentsFacilitate fulfilling document requests from courts and third partiesAssist in monitoring case inventory and execute strategies among active casesCommunicate consistently with external counsel, courts, and third partiesTrack communications, follow-ups, and matter statuses with precisionReview invoices for accuracy and paymentCoordinate with internal team members and legal managersLearn and utilize internal CRM and reporting systemsPerform administrative and mailing duties as required Experience & Qualifications5+ years of relevant experience requiredPrior experience working at a law firm or in-house legal department requiredPrior experience with Merchant cash advance or factoring companies preferredDemonstrated experience communicating and working with attorneys, law firm personnel and court employees Strong skills in motion practice, discovery and other legal draftingExtensive experience utilizing NYSCEFExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and collaboratively Total Compensation $80,000.00 based on experience
