Full Stack Python Engineer

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Full Stack Python Engineer for our client, a private practice anesthesia management and staffing company. This is a contract to hire opportunity, fully onsite in Addison, Texas. POSITION OVERVIEWWe are seeking a highly capable Full Stack Python Engineer with strong experience building end-to-end distributed software systems from the ground up. We are looking for a software engineer who can design and build complete application systems – spanning backend services, APIs, distributed processing workflows, and supporting frontend integration layers – with strong emphasis on Python-based backend engineering.PERKSOwn the design and development of complete, production-grade distributed systems – not maintenance or scripting work.Stay close to the code across Python backend services, APIs, distributed workflows, and frontend integrations.Work with Python, Azure, AKS/Kubernetes, Docker, Airflow, React, and event-driven architectures.Solve complex scalability, resiliency, and reliability challenges for operationally critical enterprise applications.RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and build full-stack applications with Python-based backend services and supporting UI/integration layersDevelop RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven and asynchronous processing systemsCollaborate on frontend integrations (React/JavaScript or equivalent) to enable end-to-end system functionalityBuild systems capable of processing large files and long-running workloads reliablyImplement retry and recovery logic, checkpointing and resumable workflows, idempotent processing patterns, and failure isolationDesign and deploy containerized Python applications using Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Container AppsBuild distributed workflows using Apache Airflow or equivalent orchestration toolsBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines and production-grade logging, monitoring, and alerting systemsEnsure systems are designed for scalability, resiliency, recoverability, operational stability, and maintainabilityQUALIFICATIONS 8–12+ years of professional software engineering experienceStrong hands-on expertise in Python (Python 3.x) as a primary languageProven experience building full-stack or platform-grade software systemsDemonstrated ability to design and implement distributed application architecturesStrong understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, API-first design, and distributed workflowsHands-on experience with REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, SQL databases, Git/GitLab, CI/CD, and LinuxJavaScript / React integration-level experience requiredApache Airflow or equivalent orchestration experienceExperience with AKS, Azure Container Apps, Azure Service Bus, Azure Storage Accounts, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Monitor / Application Insights preferredRedis, Solr or equivalent, Java/JVM services, and high-scale enterprise application experience are nice to haveCOMPENSATION & BENEFITSThis position offers competitive compensation up to $150k/yr (DOE) along with medical, dental and vision offerings during the contract and then the clients full benefits available upon conversion to permanent employment.ABOUT OUR FIRMScion Staffing is a national award-winning staffing firm!
