Job Title: Electrical / Electronic Engineer IIIJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Electrical / Electronic Engineer III to join our team. This role involves planning, designing, installing, and maintaining electrical and substation infrastructure for plant facilities and operations areas. The engineer will work to improve the energy efficiency of operating infrastructure and manufacturing equipment, ultimately reducing overall energy costs. The position also involves managing and coordinating both small and large brownfield engineering projects.ResponsibilitiesPlan, design, and implement the construction and maintenance of plant infrastructure.Specify equipment and systems to support plant infrastructure and facility processes.Troubleshoot and solve problems related to plant infrastructure and facility processes.Support plant infrastructure and facility process equipment, including boilers, compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, electrical distribution systems, standby generator and UPS systems, fiber optic and Ethernet communication systems, life safety systems, and security systems.Plan and coordinate work with skilled in-house tradesmen, supervisors, outside contractors, and service technicians.Provide and implement designs for electrical infrastructure equipment and systems.Apply working knowledge and practical use of the National Electric Code (NFPA) and NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.Participate in teams and cross-functional groups.Work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.Conduct project management and plant engineering functions.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering TechnologyMinimum 5 years of plant engineering, facility engineering, or electrical engineering experience supporting facility or infrastructure systemsExperience designing, reviewing, and/or implementing electrical infrastructure upgradesExperience managing multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to interpret electrical drawings and specificationsKnowledge in power distribution, medium voltage, high voltage, substation engineering, Maximo, and equipment installationAdditional Skills & QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or interest in pursuingExperience supporting capital projects from design through installAutoCAD experienceFamiliarity with CMMS or ERP systemsPrevious project management experienceWork EnvironmentThe position is based on a corporate manufacturing campus, involving 70% office-based engineering work and 30% time on the plant floor. The work schedule is from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional off-hours availability required to support electrical or infrastructure emergencies. Regular collaboration with maintenance, facilities, utilities, and contractors is expected. The role provides exposure to large-scale electrical infrastructure and substation projects within a stable team environment that boasts strong institutional knowledge.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Detroit, MI.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.30 - $57.70/hr.RequirementsEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
