The work emphasizes technical depth, credibility, and continuous improvement driven by real user needs.What You DoDevelop deeply technical documentation for Ververica's commercial products, providing developers, operators, and architects with the guidance they need to deploy, operate, and integrate our products in their own environments and within the Apache Flink ecosystem. Deliver clear, actionable guidance that emphasizes technical accuracy, practical feasibility, and helps users successfully deploy, operate, and scale streaming applications.You will:Document APIs, client libraries, CLIs, and system architecture to support enterprise deploymentsTranslate complex distributed systems and streaming concepts into practical, reproducible guidanceCreate developer enablement content, including tutorials, quickstarts, integration and migration guides, and troubleshooting playbooksClarify what is technically feasible, explaining the reasoning behind design, architectural, and operational choicesPrevent implementation and operational mistakes caused by oversimplification or incomplete guidanceCollaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to capture accurate, timely informationMaintain consistent information architecture, style, and standards across all technical contentLeverage insights from customer-facing teams to continuously improve the clarity, accuracy, and usefulness of documentationContribute to technical training and enablement materials, including Ververica Academy content when appropriateWhy This Role MattersThis role directly shapes how developers experience Ververica products. Success is measured by clarity, accuracy, and the ability of developers to move from first interaction to production with confidence.Requirements7+ years of experience as a technical writer, documentation engineer, or similar role focused on developer-facing contentProven ability to produce comprehensive, maintainable API documentation for REST and gRPC services, developer libraries, and other programmatic interfaces, including versioned referencesStrong understanding of software development concepts, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecturesExperience creating developer enablement content, including tutorials, integration guides, troubleshooting playbooks, and conceptual overviewsExcellent written communication in clear, idiomatic American English for a global technical audienceStrong collaboration skills with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to capture accurate, actionable contentExpert-level proficiency with modern documentation tooling, version control, and content management workflowsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Apache Flink or other stream-processing technologiesHands-on knowledge of cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, and DevOps workflowsBackground in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent technical expertiseExperience working in open-source communities and contributing to documentation or codeProven experience with structured authoring and code-centric documentation tools such as Markdown, GitHub, Docusaurus, or similar frameworksDemonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical, reproducible guidance for developers and operatorsBenefitsAt Ververica, you'll be part of a dynamic and innovative team at the forefront of real-time data processing technology.
