Graduate Student Communications Intern
The Staley School of Leadership is hiring a graduate student to assist in sharing our mission with students, prospective students, alums, and our global community through communications. We provide students with academic knowledge and applied learning experiences that advance our mission of developing bold, curious, and connected learners to address our world’s most complex challenges.The Staley School of Leadership includes leadership studies academic programs, Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research, the University Honors Program, leadership and service programs, and Applied Learning Experiences.Position InformationThis position pays $15 per hour, and requires 20 hours per week. This is not an assistantship and does not support graduate student tuition.Graduate students who are already in an assistantship may not be eligible for this employment appointment role due to K-State's assistantship maximum appointment policy. In-office hours are required, and remote work is optional.Night or weekend work events take place about twice per semester.Necessary equipment, such as cameras or software, will be provided as needed.Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours at Kansas State University.ResponsibilitiesThis position helps strategize and create materials that uphold the Staley School brand and is supervised by the Communications Program Administrator.Utilize the Adobe Suite and Canva to create communications materialsUphold the Staley School and K-State brandsImplement and champion digital accessibility standardsIdentify opportunities for creative, strategic content and storytellingCreate short and long-form videos, social media posts, print pieces, and other communications materialsWrite news releases and stories for K-State Today and other outletsDevelop and maintain a social media calendarBuild strong working relationships and adapt to varied work stylesManage projects and regularly communicate progress utilizing project management softwareAttend live events as needed for photography and videographyPreferred ExperienceGraphic design in either the Adobe Suite, Canva, or other design platformsProfessional writing skills for social media captions, stories, news releases or other examplesCapturing and producing social media videosCandid and portrait photographyStrong organizational and project management skillsIndependent work and collaborative work with team membersApplyComplete the online application: https://bit.ly/staley-school-communications-intern You will be asked to upload a resume at the end.
