Lab Technician

Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team on a swing shift. The role involves testing and ensuring that all products meet company, state, and federal standards. This position requires working Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, with potential for Saturdays and additional hours as needed to cover vacations and call-offs.Responsibilities+ Check Good Manufacturing Practices procedures.+ Conduct microbiological testing.+ Perform weights and volume evaluations.+ Conduct organoleptic evaluations.+ Check titration, pH, Brix, fats, solids, and perform additional testing as required.+ Operate metal detector equipment.+ Set up code date equipment for daily production.+ Inspect products for proper labeling and code dates.+ Assist with maintaining and controlling production, quality, and regulatory documents.+ Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills+ Degree in a scientific discipline, or a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.+ Average math, writing, and reading skills.+ Strong team player.+ Proficiency in Excel, Word, MS Teams, and Outlook.+ Ability to communicate effectively with Quality Assurance and plant personnel on any QA issues.+ Willingness to work overtime and weekends.+ Ability to multitask with positive results.+ Good organizational skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Prior lab experience in food manufacturing or dairy is preferred.+ Must be able to stand for long periods, climb stairs multiple times a day, and perform repetitive movements such as stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting.+ Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.Work EnvironmentThe employee will work in a team-oriented setting and must be comfortable working with several people at a time. The role requires willingness to work in a freezer environment for up to one hour at a time (-20o). The noise level in the work environment can be extremely high.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
