Position OverviewInternational is seeking a Category Manager – Brake Systems & ADAS to join our Procurement team!The Category Manager will lead a Category Management Team (CMT) with R&D working cross functionally within International interfacing with program management, quality, manufacturing, risk management, finance, and supply chain. As Category Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing Brake System and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) sourcing strategies, driving cost reductions, supply base management and negotiating agreements.The Category Manager’s key activities include, leading strategic sourcing activities, supplier contract negotiations, identifying cost reduction opportunities and overall supplier performance management for cost, quality, and delivery.ResponsibilitiesCo-Leading the CMT (Category Management Team) to develop and execute a commodity strategy that best supports and influences the overall Navistar strategy meeting objectives for Major/Minor ProgramsManage all commercial aspects with assigned supply base including driving cost savings goals, negotiating, risk management, building positive relationships and resolving open issues with a cross functional teamAnalyze supplier cost structure and competitive landscape to identify and negotiate savings and mitigate increasesNegotiate and execute Long Term Supply AgreementsLead the cross-functional Category Management Team for the commodityDevelop and execute sourcing strategies and gain CMT and executive approval where neededIdentify and execute cost savings measures with suppliers and Navistar team to achieve annual goalsAnalyze data to understand the cross functional impact of sourcing decisions or project through developing accurate business casesConstantly Communicate with Supply Chain, Operations, Purchasing, and Engineering customers and escalate issues when needed – know who, when, and how to communicate with all StakeholdersManage the workload of an assigned sourcing specialist where applicableMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree and at least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experienceORMaster's degree and at least 4 years of purchasing/procurement experienceORAt least 8 years of purchasing/procurement experienceAdditional RequirementsQualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
