Focused on revenue generation, the CBDO oversees the business development and sales functions, aligning efforts with corporate strategy and ensuring sustainable growth in key markets.Essential FunctionDirect the enterprise-wide business development and lead generation strategy, fostering a high-performance culture focused on client acquisition and retention.Lead, manage, and develop the business development team, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional growth opportunities.Develop and implement comprehensive annual business development plans, including measurable goals, key performance indicators, and revenue targets.Oversee and optimize the use of the company's CRM platform for lead tracking, pipeline management, reporting, and performance analytics.Lead go/no-go and capture strategy decisions for new business pursuits, ensuring alignment with company positioning and profitability objectives.Conduct market and competitive benchmarking to identify emerging trends, growth opportunities, and evolving client needs.Partner with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to align marketing, lead generation, and business development strategies for cohesive brand and revenue growth.Maintain direct involvement with key client accounts, fostering long-term relationships and maximizing opportunities for repeat and expanded business.Track, analyze, and report on revenue growth, lead conversion rates, win/loss performance, and pipeline activity for the Executive Team.Guide and mentor business development and sales staff to strengthen pursuit strategies, client engagement, and negotiation effectiveness.Serve as a primary strategic advisor to the CEO and senior leadership on market expansion, client acquisition, and partnership development. Key Metrics of Success: Revenue growth and profitability by sectorWin/loss capture rate and client retention percentagesNew market penetration and partnership developmentCRM pipeline accuracy and business forecasting effectivenessPosition Requirements10+ years of progressively responsible experience in business development, sales leadership, or strategic partnerships, with at least 5 years in a senior executive or director-level role.Proven record of driving revenue growth through lead generation, pipeline management, and client acquisition strategies.Deep understanding of the built industry (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and RE Development) and its client sectors, market dynamics, and procurement processes.Demonstrated success in building, leading, and motivating cross-functional teams to achieve aggressive business goals.Strong understanding of CRM systems, data analytics, and sales performance metrics.Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.Equal Opportunity Employer
