IT Systems Engineer
Job Summary
The Engineer is an exempt role responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing IT systems while providing expert-level escalation support to the internal team and clients. This position requires a strategic approach to technical problem-solving, implementing scalable solutions, and driving system reliability. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Engineer ensures the delivery of robust IT solutions that align with business goals and contribute to the growth and success of the organization.
The position is fully remote, with occasional travel to client sites (primarily located in FL, MI, TN, VA, and WA).
Key Responsibilities
System Management
Manage and maintain core systems, virtualization platforms, and security frameworks.
Ensure high reliability, uptime, and performance of systems and networks.
Perform regular system audits to maintain security and operational efficiency.
Technical Design & Recommendations
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective IT solutions.
Provide strategic guidance on technology adoption aligned with client and organizational goals.
Identify opportunities for system improvements and develop actionable recommendations.
Escalation Support
Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues, minimizing disruptions for clients and internal teams.
Document resolutions to contribute to a shared knowledge base.
Mentor team members by sharing advanced troubleshooting techniques and insights.
Task & Project Management
Use task tracking tools to manage assignments, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
Act as a technical lead on project tasks, contributing to planning, execution, and documentation.
Ensure clear communication and collaboration with stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
Performance Reporting
Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to the Director of Engineering.
Identify and address areas for improvement to enhance overall system performance and team productivity.
Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience in system engineering or a related field.
Proficiency with cloud platforms, networking, and scripting.
Strong understanding of virtualization platforms and security frameworks.
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver effective resolutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, VMware).
Experience with automation tools to enhance system efficiency.
Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) principles and tools.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
