Job Description
Responsible for implementing and adhering to a project's Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Field Quality Assurance Program and leading project staff to include, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Quality Technicians and Temporary Labor. Must be fluent in Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical inspection requirements but can assist in civil, and pre-commissioning inspection means and methods. Leadership role responsible for establishing and executing Project Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Quality Plans, personnel development, and training, isolating, and solving issues and reporting of Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Quality issues and Program Metrics. Initiates tests, analyzes results, and finds solutions to technical problems. Interacts with Strata Self Perform Electrical crews and Subcontractors regarding Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Quality plans, executions, and corrective action.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSolar Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME)Oversees Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Technicians and Temp LaborDevelops Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Inspection Test Points (ITPs) and reviews with SuperintendentsMaintains and updates ITPs throughout the projectOversees inspections and documentationWorks with Superintendents to ensure inspections occur within required timeframesWorks with ESP and subcontractors after approved FAICommunicates quality-related items with subcontractors and ESP teamsCompletes daily walk-downs with ESP and/or subcontractor QCTrains QA and QC personnel on ITPs and inspection requirementsMaintains Daily Quality Report Heat MapWorks with Logistics on material/equipment nonconformanceGenerates Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Corrective Action Reports (CAR)Provides inspection checklists to Quality Technicians and Temp LaborEnsures delivery of quality inspection reportsFacilitates communication between Construction Manager, Superintendent, and EngineeringAudits QC documentationProvides coverage for other Quality Leads as neededWorks with Quality Manager to develop and implement FQCPParticipates in interviews, reviews, discipline, and rewardsProvides weekly reporting to Senior ManagementProvides daily reporting to Quality ManagerFluent in inspection requirements, tools, and equipmentManages project non-conformancesWorks with Self-Perform and subcontractors on quality issuesCompletes random oversight inspectionsVerifies nonconformance rework completionWorks with teams on schedule, quality, and FQCP complianceInvestigates NCRs/CARs, provides oversight, verifies corrections, and completes required trainingWorks with project team on QC/testing requirements and checklist completionFacilitates weekly Safety and Quality trainingHolds daily meetings to communicate quality requirements, workflows, assignments, OT, and coverageMaintains PPE checksAssists in preparation of Field Quality Control ProgramPrepares schedule for quality teamCommunicates concerns related to scheduling, subcontractors, and quality issuesIdentifies and documents quality issues and drives continuous improvementAssists in establishing documentation of standard operating specifications/proceduresMaintains inspection metrics and distributes weekly reportsHolds internal and external quality meetingsEnsures documentation, materials, consumables, and vehicles are ready for deploymentPlaces order requests to Quality ManagerDevelops Quality Technicians and Temp Labor knowledge of Quality PlanDocuments standard operating proceduresCommunicates revisions to proceduresPrepares QIR, NCR, P/CAR, RFIs, and Root Cause AnalysisProvides technical support during inspections and problem resolutionMaintains clean and operational vehicleReports fleet vehicle damage/maintenance to Fleet ManagerArrives prepared and appropriately dressedMaintains positive and attentive attitudeReviews and submits time/per diem sheets weeklyChecks and responds to email dailyWorks independently and as part of a teamGathers data for RFIs and sees them to closureTrains teams on FieldView usageMaintains communication with subcontractors regarding deficiencies and closureVerifies tooling calibration certificationsMaintains document retention using correct platforms (E-Room, PWA, Viewpoint, Teams, etc.)Understands and abides by all company policiesHelps develop training material for the departmentSupervisory ResponsibilitiesLeads Project Quality Staff.Education and/or Work Experience Requirements3 years verifiable Quality Management/Lead experience or 4-year degree in construction or similarOSHA 30 or NCCER STS-CNFPA 70EProficient in Microsoft OfficeUnderstanding of current technology practicesClear understanding of OSHA safe workplace practicesAbility to read and understand construction drawingsAbility to read electrical single-line and three-line diagramsAbility to read manufacturer installation standardsAbility to travel and work on-call/off-shift/weekendsMust maintain operational cellular deviceMust pass initial and random drug screeningsSalaried individuals expected to work minimum 50 hours per weekPhysical Requirements / Work EnvironmentWork is 90% field, 10% office. Outdoor environment, all weather conditions. Extensive travel required. Must comply with safety standards and PPE requirements. Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8–10 hours.
