Job Title: Java Developer IIILocation: Cincinnati, OH (Madisonville)TOP SKILLS: Must HaveAdvanced proficiency in one or more programming languages: Java (8 or above)JavaScript / TypeScriptHands-on experience with: Spring Framework / Spring Boot, Gradle or similar build toolsDocker / containerizationNode.js, Angular or similar frameworksSQLDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead design and development of complex features while ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainabilityProvide technical leadership to the team through architecture guidance, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineersDrive engineering best practices across the team, including coding standards, testing strategies, and CI/CD improvementsPartner with product, architecture, and leadership to shape technical direction and influence roadmap decisionsIdentify and resolve system-level issues, including production incidents and recurring defectsContribute to and lead developer communities of practice, promoting knowledge sharing and innovationEvaluate and introduce new technologies to improve efficiency and solution qualityProactively identify risks, dependencies, and technical gaps, and drive mitigation strategiesOther duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides technical leadership and mentorship to team membersMay lead project teams or initiatives without direct people management responsibilityMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable experience5+ years of software development experience with demonstrated leadership in delivering complex solutionsAdvanced proficiency in one or more programming languages:Java (8 or above)JavaScript / TypeScriptStrong experience in designing and building scalable, distributed systemsDeep understanding of object-oriented design, system architecture, and design patternsStrong experience with relational databases and SQLHands-on experience with:Spring Framework / Spring BootGradle or similar build toolsDocker / containerizationNode.js, Angular or similar frameworksStrong understanding of networking, APIs, and integration patternsExpertise in version control (Git/GitHub) and modern development workflowsDeep understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including DevOps practicesStrong knowledge of secure coding practices and regulatory considerationsProven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issuesStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
